The key to a smooth building project is communication!

There are so many variables when building your home, so making sure you understand your inclusions when you sign your quote can be tricky!

At MBG we have developed a number of client consultations that we schedule before we sign contracts, to ensure our clients understand their plans and are aware of all inclusions and exclusions. As custom builders, it is important to us that your home reflects your personality and style. We use these consultations to go through each aspect of your build, from the functionality of your home's layout and positioning of your block on the land, to the aesthetic selections of your fittings and fixtures.

Consultations range from a half hour initial sketch consultation to an hour and a half consultation to discuss selections. Although it may seem like a bit of ground work, an hour consultation before signing contracts can potentially save you hundreds of dollars’ worth of variations later on.

There are two key factors we ask our clients to think about to help us to give you the most accurate quote we can:

  • Establish a Budget: If you haven’t already determined your construction budget the most important step to take after purchasing a block of land is to meet with your financier to determine your budget. Establishing the budget you need to work within early will fast track the design process as we have the tools to provide building estimates based on home sizes.
  • Your vision: Bring your passion, imagination and visual aids such as pictures of layouts, interiors and exteriors that you like, and a list of key features that will define your design. The more information you can include on your plan the better!
